The only thing better than cake? Frosting!

Frosting is often an afterthought when baking, and we think this is a serious shame. Frosting can make or break a cake. It’s also a great way to jazz up other recipes too. We’ve put together a list of some innovative uses for icing that taste delicious and know will wow your guests and make you kitchen royalty.

Fill strawberries with cream cheese frosting.

Cut off the tip of the strawberry and scoop out the inside fruit to make room for the frosting. Then stick them in the fridge until their cool and ready to eat. For an extra kick, dip the strawberries in chocolate first.

Rim your champagne glass with frosting.

Roll the rim of the glass into a bowl of your favourite frosting. Make it more festive with decorations such as rainbow sprinkles, chocolate flakes or shaved nuts.

Ordinary sandwiches are so overrated.

Frosting fillings are great, and if you’re feeling adventurous try switching up normal bread for Anzac cookies or banana bread.

Spice up a traditional chocolate molten cake

For all you sweet tooth fiends, try using frosting for the centre filling of your molten cake.

Turn your chocolate frosting into hot fudge sauce.

Melt the frosting in the microwave or on the stove until it’s thick and gloopy.

Include frosting in your brownie mix before you bake them in the oven.

It makes the brownies even more gooey and delicious.

Nutella and frosting pizza is a favourite of ours.

Just like we have dessert wines, we also need dessert pizzas. 

Glazed pork belly.

Glaze your pork belly with frosting. This idea is perfect for roast dinner and entertaining.
